They are friendly and they stay active all day long. It is recommended to get as young a bird as possible for easier taming. It is also much easier to tame the birds when they are kept separately. The medium-sized cage will be adequate for one bird or one pair. The cage has to provide enough rungs so the bird can move freely. Fisher's Lovebirds love bathing, as do other birds belonging to the same family, so one has to provide them bathing at least twice a week.

Minearals and cuttle-bone are essential for their nutrition and should always be available. As fruits and vegetables are their favourite foods, they should be offered every other day.
Apples, carrots, blade, and chicory are also among their favourite foods.
BREEDING FISCHER LOVEBIRD: These birds are popular in aviaries of breeders or beginners due to their mild nature and simplicity of breeding. An aviary of 1.5 m3 (52 square ft.) is suitable if one wants to breed no more than three pairs of Fischers. Their sensitivity to cold temperatures is characteristic of all species within this family. If one decides to put them outside during the winter, it is important to leave them nests so the birds may find some shelter. In the rooms with controlled temperatures, breeding lasts during the entire year.

Branches of willow are the most suitable as they provide the humidity needed for normal hatching of offspring. The nest of 18 cm (7 in) width and length and 20 cm (8 in) in height may be entangled with willow branches so that even humans cannot approach the bird. The female usually clutches 3 to 6 eggs. Incubation lasts 20 days. Fischer lovebird eggs with baby birds. Branches of willow are the most suitable as they provide the humidity needed for normal hatching Fischer baby birds. The female usually clutches 3 to 6 eggs. After 45 days, the young are independent and can be separated from their parents. They stay up to 35 days after birth in the nest. Over the next ten days, the process of separation takes place. The necessary amount of minerals will prevent cannibalism. More than three broods a year is not recommended as to save the birds from unnecessary exhaustion.
